What can we expect in your classes?

In my classes, I focus on the pause between breaths, where the pose has a chance to land in the body. We explore how using the body or props can create leverage to find more length and ease in each posture. I’ll encourage you to explore your edge—

because that’s where real change happens, both physically and mentally. It’s the students who make the room feel like home, and I strive to create a space where everyone feels comfortable, supported, and connected.

Tell us about your classes:

I see my class as an opportunity to reset your state of being. We use the physical challenge to reorganize the mental clutter and we do this with a healthy dose of humor.

Teaching yoga is a really unique way to connect with people. The intensity immediately strips you of pretense, leaving the room ready for realness. It feels honest.

What drew you to yoga?

My cousin invited me to my first yoga class.  Thankfully, my hesitation to try something new did not scare me away.  After my first class, I knew that I needed to learn more;  I felt different, better, lighter.   I began to build my personal practice and foundation for 12 years as a student.  Then I finally took the time to become a teacher and really expand on what has helped my life in so many ways!  Thank you yoga for the breath, the movement and the peace!

Candice

What do you hope your student experience in your classes?

I hope students feel safe to play and explore different postures in my class, while getting some quiet space to reflect.

What drew you to teaching?

Initially it was to deepen my own practice and build my own skillset. But the more I instructed others I found that if my class makes even one person have a better day, that is what brings me joy.

I hope that my students feel challenged but know that they don’t have to be pushed to the limit to succeed in their practice. Just like the ocean, there  will be ebbs and flows in our practices…take what you need for that particular day.

Tell us about your teaching experience

I began my teacher training journey in 2005, completing a 40 hour Teacher Assistant Program. Upon completion, I started assistant teaching classes 4–5 times each week, and a year later I took my first week-long intensive training with Baron Baptiste. I began teaching classes all over the greater Cleveland area. I have since completed nearly 700 hours of Wellness Training and Master classes, including but not limited to Power Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Kids Yoga, Breathless Yoga, and Reiki Level 1 and 2. I have experience teaching all age groups at many Cleveland area yoga studios, gyms, and private establishments.

My classes focus on intentional movement with plenty of space to practice in a way that feels supportive and real in your body, whether you’re in restorative, gentle, slow flow or power vinyasa.

As a Reiki Master, I hold a grounded environment where nervous system awareness and self-trust matter just as much as the poses. Students often leave feeling more connected, regulated, and confident in listening to themselves both on and off the mat.

Yoga started as a personal anchor that helped me reconnect with my body and find steadiness through different seasons of life. Teaching grew naturally from that experience and became a way to hold space for others to explore movement, build self-trust and realize their practice doesn’t have to look a certain way to be meaningful.

About my classes:

Classes with Jen are great for all levels of practice, whether you are just starting out or have been on the mat for years, there is room for everyone. Because of her extensive background working with physical therapists, chiropractors, and as a massage therapist herself she has an acute awareness of the challenges a traditional practice may pose to different seasons of life. From this her classes have evolved to offer a range of options for each person to explore, enabling them to meet themselves where they are.

About my style/classes:

My goal for a class is to leave practitioners feeling complete and balanced, both physically and mentally. Sequencing is often unique, athletic, and powerful, combined with moments of space and ease. We have 60 minutes to move, breathe, and leave it all on the mat.

What Drew You to Teaching?

Yoga is more than movement for me- it’s a way to regulate, reset, and build resilience in everyday life. Teaching is a natural extension of sharing those tools and helping others experience that same sense of steadiness in their bodies and clarity in their minds.

Nikki

I found yoga shortly after starting my career in a fast-paced corporate environment. It was the first thing that helped unplug from the day and step out of my mind and back into my body.

What began as a personal reset quickly became something I wanted to share. Teaching allows me to create a space where people can slow down, breathe, and remember that yoga doesn’t have to be perfect or serious. It can simply be a place to move, reconnect, and leave feeling a little more like yourself.

What to expect in my classes:

I intend for each of my classes to be light-hearted, challenging, and encourage students to feel present in their bodies and move from pose-to-pose with awareness and intention.

What drew you to teaching?

I came to yoga for the physical practice, what I fell in love was how it made me feel and the community of Lake Yoga.

Teaching was a natural next step to deepen my own practice while holding space for others. I love that I get the same feeling whether practicing or teaching. And there is something really special about seeing the impact the practice has on others.
